batik attack

22 Oct

remember the guestbook we made with struggle?

i found out this and i think her batik is lovelier and the book is neater :). too bad we didn’t know about this before.

smell like greeting cards

31 Jan

i’ve been wanting to stick the greeting cards we got onto our guestbook. but since i was too lazy, i’ve been postponing to do it until today.

thank you for all the greeting cards 🙂 we love them!

(1000) paper cranes

28 Nov

no, i didn’t make 1000 paper cranes.

for unknown reason, i always want to have an origami element on my wedding. first i was going to make kusudama flower for the top of our pens decoration for the guestbooks. but the paper flower didn’t stick nicely on the tip of the pen.

when i tried with paper cranes, the pens look awesome! i asked -f-‘s opinion about this and he loves it too. luckily, i still have some origami papers that i bought online. a few days before the wedding, i folded 5 cranes for the pens and place them inside a bamboo pencil tube.

16 days to go…

some findings in paper clip, pejaten village:

colorful-ribbon

notes-batikapparently we were not the only one using batik as cover of books. nemu notes-notes kecil dengan sampul aneka kain batik. sama konsepnya seperti buku tamu yang kita buat.

tapi kain batiknya masih bagusan punya kita kan? hehehe

stabilospidol

20 days to go…

the guestbook’s jacket

30 Oct

guestbookjacket

of course we choose the most difficult way to make guestbook. bought the papers, bind them. bought the fabric, made the jacket. and now, they’re finally done.
we just have to stamp each page with this.

toko-kertas3

after the meeting, instead of going back to the office, i went to the paper shop. the place is next to esmod. i had never been there, so i kept looking for a shop looking building. but it was more like a messy workshop with some creepy machines.

it was on a narrow road and i can’t find any parking spot. i ended up parking in front of a ceramic shop and bought a bowl and a mug! 😕 *aaargh another impulsive shopping*

the recommended papers are bc or bw. but i found a thicker paper, so i just bought that one. they helped me cutting the paper into A4 size with a guillotine look alike machine.

the next day, i brought the papers to subur for hardcover binding. they said the papers are too thick for normal hardcover binding. so the book will have hard cover with ring binding.

batik-cirebon-mayestik

found some colorful batik cirebon at mayestik for rp 45.000 each. we think they will be great for the cover for our guestbook. but the problem, how to apply them to the book?

maybe we can use this tutorial for making the jacket of the book but we’re not sure if our book is landscape, is it will be as good as the potrait one?

bagus bagus

14 Oct

kotak1i was in citos last weekend when i spotted some boxes with batik cover in a little shop called bagus bagus.

i love the boxes so much that i think i can use them for my seserahan boxes. but i’m not sure about this since seserahan boxes usually have transparent part on the cover.

but probably i can use the idea for our guestbook. the guestbooks cover is padded with batik clothes like the cover of the boxes.
